Welcome to ABRF NEWS! This issue inaugurates a newsletter dedicated to improved communication among members. We are planning on three issues a year to keep members informed about executive committee and subcommittee activities as well as many other items of interest to core facilities. The newsletter is intended for members, so please give us your opinions, including suggestions for improvements.
The Association has grown from only an idea in 1985 to a very active organization. Much was accomplished in 1989; even more is planned for 1990. Each year gives us additional experience which we hope helps us serve the membership better.
We are delighted with your enthusiastic response in this first year with dues. Those of us who are committed to meeting the needs of core facility staff and users believe this demonstrates your very strong support of ABRF. Also, the corporate sponsors, who are listed on page 2 of this newsletter, continue to make many of ABRF's activities possible.
Again, welcome to "ABRF NEWS". We want your input about science, operation of ABRF, and the newsletter. Do contribute to the newsletter as well as to your organization.
