The members of the 1990 sequence subcommittee are Gregory Grant (co-chair), Liane MendMueller, Ronald Niece, David Speicher (chair), Ken Williams, and Umit Yuksel. This year, a substantial effort was invested in designing a sequence unknown that could be reproducibly loaded onto PVDF membranes to simulate a large electroblotted protein. This survey should provide the first systematic controlled analysis of sequence performance on this important sequence substrate. Samples will be distributed in mid-April to members who had paid their dues. We plan a second mailing to facility directors who pay their dues before May 15.
