Planning for activities in 1991 by the newly formed peptide synthesis/mass spectrometry subcommittee continues. The committee's efforts are likely to include a short survey of peptide synthesis facilities' chemistries and operation. Peptide synthesis facilities will also be asked to synthesize a specific short peptide (about 15 residues) and return the sample to the subcommittee for characterization.
The committee consists of: Steven Carr, Smith, Kline and Beecham; Daniel Marshak, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories; Alan Smith (Chair), Stanford University; Lynn Williams, University of Southern California; Kenneth Williams, Yale University; and Janis Young, UCLA.
