ABRF SPONSORED SYMPOSIUM AT THE
1992 ASBMB/BIOPHYSICAL SOCIETY MEETING
ABRF and the Educational Affairs Committee of ASBMB are again co-sponsoring a
symposium at the annual ASBMB meeting to be held jointly with the Biophysical
Society in Houston, Texas on February 913, 1992. The symposium titled "Recent
Advances in the Detection and Identification of Subtle Structural Alterations
in Proteins and Nucleic Acids" encompasses seven talks by leaders in their
fields describing up-to-date concepts and techniques for the structural
analysis of proteins and nucleic acids. The symposium, co-chaired by Ron Niece
and Ken Williams, will include the following presentations:
-
Finn Wold - Post-Translational Modifications in Proteins: an Overview
-
Paul Tempst - HPLC Peptide Mapping Following Enzymatic Digestion
-
A . L. Burlingame - Characterization by Tandem Mass Spectrometry of Structural
Modifications in Proteins
-
Gregory Grant - Automated Amino Acid Sequencing: An Appraisal of Current
Capabilities Based on Collaborative ABRF Studies Involving as many as 90
Laboratories
-
Steven Carr - The Role of Mass Spectrometry in the Analysis of
Covalently-Modified Peptides
-
C. Thomas Caskey - Molecular Scanning Methods of Mutation Detection
-
Lloyd Smith - Automated DNA Sequencing: A Look Into the Future
