The ABRF Executive Committee recently approved the initiation of a local chapter program. The purpose of local chapters is to extend the efforts of the parent international organization at the regional level primarily through periodic formal or informal meetings which will be open to any interested individuals who want to join the local organization. Activities of the local chapters must be consistent with the primary goals of ABRF which include: promoting discussion and interaction among resource laboratories, contribute to improvement of methods and facility operation, and help educate facility staff, users, and other interested scientists. Guidelines for the organization and operation of local chapters have been developed.
Local chapters can be initiated by any ABRF members interested in organizing a regional program. If you are interested in starting a chapter in your area contact Lauren Kim in our business office (see page 8 for address) for a copy of the guidelines and further details.
