The 1993 committee has four new members, Jay Gambee, Greg Grant (ad hoc), John Rush, and Dave Speicher and three continuing members, Phil Andrews, Dan Crimmins (chair), and Sheenah Mische (co-chair). In September, the committee asked ABRF Core Directors for their input regarding the type of sample they would like to receive for the ABRF-93SEQ study. The "post card" survey was overwhelmingly successful with a total of 163 Directors responding as of 10/23/93. The results of this study, which show a clear preference for a straightforward unknown similar to previous ABRF sequence studies, are presented in the table below. In an effort to further increase overall participation in the yearly sequencing study, an ABRF-93SEQ sample is being designed which reflects these responses.
