Assistant Researcher. Oklahoma State University is seeking a Protein Specialist with training and experience in protein purification to develop workshops, to train research personnel in protein characterization and computer-aided modeling, and to direct technical personnel in peptide synthesis, HPLC, CE, and protein microsequencing. Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related areas with experience in protein characterization required. Initial two year, 11-month, non-tenure track, faculty-level appointment has excellent potential for continuation beyond that period. Amino Acid Analysis Supervisor Tektagen, Inc. is seeking an individual to supervise an amino acid analysis group. The function of the group is to determine amino acid compositions of hydrolyzed proteins and other test samples. Applicants should have a B.S. in Biochemistry or Chemistry with 5-7 years industrial experience performing and/or supervising an amino acid analysis function. The qualified individual should have experience in HPLC analysis of proteins and be able to operate a Beckman Model 6300 analyzer. He/she should be able to organize and evaluate laboratory test data; write clear, concise reports; and preferably have experience in personnel management. Applications Chemist/Chemistry Support Specialist. Hewlett-Packard's Protein Chemistry Systems group (Palo Alto, CA) has an immediate opening for a full-time Applications Chemist and a Chemistry Support Specialist. The Applications Chemist will be responsible for the development/demonstration of product applications and should be skilled in protein isolation, modification, and characterization using techniques including HPLC, electrophoresis, protein sequence analysis, mass spectrometry, and biochemical methods. The qualified candidate (PhD/MS or equivalent experience) must have excellent communication/presentation skills. The Chemistry Support Specialist, as a member of the Product Support Staff, will be responsible for assisting Field and Factory customer support efforts and contribute to the development of protein chemical instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have experience providing technical support in protein chemistry and demonstrated skills with bioscience instrumentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an MS/BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent are required. POSITION DESIRED

Manager of DNA Core Facility. Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics with extensive experience in DNA synthesis, sequencing and molecular biology techniques. Instrumentation skills include automated sequencers, HPLC, CE, DNA synthesizers and interfacing to both Mac and PC based computers for control, data acquisition/reduction, as well as order management.
