This is the first newsletter of 1993 and it marks the beginning of a new year for ABRF. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new members as well as our continuing members. We have an expanded program of studies and surveys planned for this year and we hope you all will be able to participate. I am sure your efforts will make this year even more successful than last.
One major change that will occur this year is the expansion of our annual meeting. As in the past, it will be held just prior to the Protein Society Meeting, but it will now include a full day of events. These will include reports from our committees, posters, and an expanded program of workshops. We will present six workshops in two concurrent sessions of three workshops each. We have planned a tutorial for the afternoon session. The workshop topics and the full schedule are listed in this newsletter. In addition, a reception will be held the previous evening to welcome you to San Diego. We urge everyone to make their plans with this in mind. Although it will entail an additional night's lodging for those planning to attend both the ABRF and Protein Society Meetings, we are sure you will find it very stimulating and worthwhile.
ABRF has again accepted the task of organizing the poster sessions for this year's Protein Society Meeting. In addition, ABRF will co-sponsor and run a workshop on "Peptide Libraries" at the Protein Society Meeting. We appreciate the opportunity to work with the Protein Society and look forward to sharing in these efforts.
Finally, dues notices for 1993 went out last October. If you haven't responded yet, please don't delay. Prompt return will insure that you receive all mailings and are included in the directory of members. Please contact the business office if you need additional forms or materials. Your continued support of ABRF is vital to our success and we look forward to working with you and for you in the coming year.
