ABRF Meeting at the Protein Society - First European Symposium
May 28, 1995
The program for the ABRF half-day meeting in Davos, Switzerland is now in
place. Invited speakers include Alastair Aitken, Darryl Pappin, Peter
Roepstorff, Franz Hillenkamp, Christopher Southan, and Richard Smith. In
response to opinion canvassed from European members of ABRF, a program has
been formulated that addresses the needs of multi-user, core facilities in
Europe, and the subject matter concentrates on those areas of protein and
nucleic acid chemistry in which there has been substantial development in
the last few months. The symposium will be in a single-session format with
talks lasting 15 to 20 minutes each. Because the principal focus of ABRF
meetings is discussion and interaction, each subsection of the
presentations will have a separate discussion period. This will be followed
at the end of the symposium with an open-ended discussion forum where
attendees can further explore subjects discussed during the day or raise
points of interest on completely different topics. Delegates should feel
free to bring along a few (no more than five) slides to illustrate any
particular point or show data relevant to the discussion during the open
forum. We hope the afternoon will prove stimulating to all those who
attend and provide them with new ideas to take back to their laboratories.
