This is not merely a supervisory position, the candidate is expected to **actively** participate in all aspects of peptide synthesis and purification. Duties will include, but are not limited to, helping with the management of the peptide synthesis group, training personnel in basic and advanced methods, helping investigators design peptide structures, and developing new approaches to peptide synthesis. In short, job duties include anything required for the smooth operation of the peptide synthesis group and to ensure that the latest methodologies in peptide synthesis are available to our investigators. The person hired will also interact closely with analysts who perform protein sequence analysis, mass spectrometry, and amino acid analysis. Requires B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related area depending on quality and length of experience.
