TWO NEW MEMBERS ELECTED TO ABRF EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Executive Board is the only elected body within ABRF. Each year, the three-year terms of two of the six Executive Board members expire, and two new members are elected by ABRF Facility Directors. On November 15, Ruth Hogue Angeletti and John Rush were elected to the Executive Board with terms beginning January 1, 1996; they will replace Lowell Ericsson and Dan Marshak. A total of 140 ballots was returned before the election deadline.

Ruth Angeletti and John Rush bring considerable experience to the Executive Board. Ruth Angeletti is a Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. She was Editor of two volumes of Techniques in Protein Chemistry. Within the ABRF, she has served on the Education Committee, is currently Chair of the Peptide Synthesis Research Committee, organized the ABRF Symposium at the 1993 ASBMB Meeting, and organized and now manages the ABRF electronic mailing list. John Rush is a Lecturer at HHMI/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He was a member of the Protein Sequence Research Committee for three years, chaired a workshop on MALDI/TOF mass analysis at the 1994 ABRF Meeting, and is currently Editor of ABRF News. In addition to bringing several new features to the newsletter, he played a key role in establishing the ABRF WWW homepage.

The Association expresses its gratitude to the two departing Executive Board members, to all four candidates for this year's election, and to all members who participated in the election by returning their ballots.
