WORLD WIDE WEB HOMEPAGE UPDATE

Several new features have been added to the ABRF WWW homepage during the past few months. All issues of ABRF News from April 1990 to September 1995--a total of 22 issues--have been electronically formatted and are available for browsing. John Rush, Lauren Hennessey, and Michelle Obenauer of HHMI/Harvard Medical School electronically scanned and then edited most back issues of ABRF News so they could be posted on the homepage. For now, back issues can be accessed only through issue number or date, but a feature that will allow topic searches will be in place soon.

Other new homepage features are:

* The ABRF Yellow Pages, a list of members who offer a variety of analytical and synthetic services;

* A list of other WWW sites that are likely to be of interest to members;

* Direct E-mail links to members of the Executive Board, Research Committees, and the ABRF News Editorial Board;

* A direct link for subscribing to the ABRF electronic mailing list;

* A Meetings and Workshops page that presently holds abstracts from the ABRF Workshop at Davos, Switzerland on Approaches to Protein Characterization held in May 1995; and

* Information about ABRF '96, our first independent meeting to be held in San Francisco, CA in March 1996.

Over the past eight weeks, 8,500 files have been downloaded from the homepage, and the rate of usage doubles about every two weeks.

Members can send suggestions for other new features to Ken Mitchelhill, who maintains the homepage, by electronic mail (E-mail: k.mitchelhill@medicine.unimelb.edu.au).
