There have been several significant changes to the ABRF WWW Homepage made possible by the purchase of a dedicated computer, a Power Macintosh 7600/120, by the ABRF. The computer upgrade has resulted in a substantial improvement in access speed and has enabled the site to be made fully searchable.
On average, the Homepage is accessed by about 100 users each week, with the ABRF Yellow Pages being one of the popular places for browsers to visit. The Homepage is routinely indexed by some of the big global search engines like Digital's Alta Vista and as a consequence, we have many visits directly to ABRF News articles and Committee reviews via these routes.
The day-to-day usefulness of any homepage is directly related to the links it contains. The links from "ABRF Member Laboratory and Sponsor WWW Sites" and "Other Useful WWW Sites" are a bit thin.
