ABRF '97: TECHNIQUES AT THE GENOME-PROTEOME INTERFACE

An International Symposium Sponsored by the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities

February 9-12, 1997 at the Hyatt Regency on the Inner Harbor Baltimore, MD

Meeting Organizers: John Shively and Lloyd Smith

This three-day meeting will focus on techniques critical to the analysis of the genome and proteome and will address central issues at the interface. Special sessions on informatics will examine the acquisition, distribution, and analysis of genome and proteome sequence information. Morning plenary sessions will set themes for afternoon workshops on techniques. Genomic techniques will include construction of EST databases, physical maps, and other genomic databases. Proteome techniques will include production of mass spectrometry /mass spectrometry, protein sequence tag, and post-translational databases. Tutorials, posters, and roundtable discussions will explore the details of DNA and protein mapping and sequencing techniques, allowing ample opportunity for participants to share their views and latest data on each topic. Manufacturers' exhibits will be shown from Monday, February 10 to Wednesday, February 12.

Meeting management by FASEB Meeting Manager: Kristin Mirabal, Tel: (301) 530-7013, Fax: (301) 530 -7014, E-mail: Kmirabal@faseb.org.
