David J. Lipman
at the Symposium of the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities on August 3, 1996 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the general areas of methodology and instrumentation in all relevant biomolecular fields.
Dr. Lipman is being honored for his outstanding contributions to the field of Computational Biology and the development of software for the comparison of nucleic acid and protein sequences.
