The 17th ICBMB featured an entire day of technology symposia and workshops called "Technology Corners" that were organized by ABRF members Ruth H. Angeletti, Mark Lively, and Ron Niece. The meeting was held in conjunction with the 1997 Annual Meeting of the ASBMB in San Francisco on August 24-29, 1997. Fourteen symposia covering a broad range of topics were held and all were well attended. The following summaries by attendees provide us with highlights of the Mass Spectrometry Mini-Symposium and the Protein Chemistry Mini-Symposium.
