Corporate Relations Committee Formed

The relationship between the ABRF and its corporate sponsors and supporters has added an important dimension to the work of the ABRF. To foster positive and productive relationships with our corporate partners, the ABRF has formed a new committee, the Corporate Relations Committee (CRC). The members of this committee are listed at the bottom of page 3 of this newsletter.

Support from corporations has been a key factor in enabling the ABRF to maintain the high quality of its current activities and to expand into new areas. The ABRF currently has 24 Corporate Sponsors and 7 Corporate Supporters (listed on page 3). The CRC will be actively involved in expanding this base of support. It will also promote interaction between members of biotechnology companies and members of ABRF while helping to ensure appropriate academic freedom and integrity for all ABRF-sponsored activities.

Benefits that sponsors derive from their association with the ABRF include recognition in this quarterly newsletter and in the membership brochure, free copies of the ABRF membership directory and the "yellow pages", free newsletters and use of the newsletter "classified advertisement" section and placement service, access to test samples used in ABRF Research Committees studies, options to contribute suitable articles to this newsletter, and links to their corporate homepages from the ABRF WWW Homepage.

The CRC will act as the channel for companies to address issues they feel are important in their relationship with the ABRF, and the CRC will work to encourage individual members of companies to participate in ABRF activities. Ultimately this role will promote the advancement of the technologies upon which we all depend.

The CRC welcomes inquiries from companies concerning sponsorship or support of the ABRF. If your company is interested in the activities of the ABRF, please ask for information from:
