ABRF '99 Satellite Meeting
SHORT COURSE
PROTEIN AND PEPTIDE SEQUENCE ANALYSIS BY TANDEM MASS SPECTROMETRY
Wednesday, March 17 - Friday, March 19, 1999
(preceding the ABRF '99 meeting)
Durham Marriott at the Civic Center

Instructor: Professor Donald F. Hunt, Department of Chemistry, University of Virginia
The focus of the course will be hands-on interpretation of spectra generated by the combination of electrospray ionization and collision activated dissociation (CAD). Skills required to deduce the structure of unknown peptides will be emphasized and taught. Location of posttranslationally modified residues within peptides will also be addressed.
It should be emphasized that the course will have something to offer for all skill levels; however, participants should be familiar with the single and three letter codes, as well as the chemical structures for the common amino acids. The course covers fundamentals which are essential to the understanding of increasingly sophisticated software tools and de novo interpretation.
Registration fee (includes course material, lunch and coffee breaks):
ABRF members: $275
Non-ABRF members: $350
For registration, please contact the ABRF meeting management at (301) 530-7014.
The deadline for registration is February 5, 1999.
ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. The course can only accommodate 100 people
maximum, so be sure to register as soon as possible.
(Hotel reservations can be made via the Housing Reservation Form at http:// DCVB.Durham.NC.US)
