Protein Sequence Research Group

The ABRF Protein Sequence Research Group distributed a sample in early November for it's 12th study of methods in protein sequence analysis. The sample consists of a mixture of a peptide and a protein in the five to ten picomole range. It was designed to be compatible with analysis by mass spectrometry, Edman degradation or a combination of both. Suggestions for methods to sort out the peptide and protein sequences were included. The committee is asking that results be returned with a postmark of December 1st or earlier. Results will be presented at ABRF'99 in Durham, North Carolina.

Mike Rhode has retired from Amgen and stepped down from the committee. Linda Siconolfi-Baez is his replacement.
