Lutefisk1900 Results
"X" implies either L or I. Lutefisk1900 output provides a maximum of five candidate sequences ranked in order of what it considers to be more likely to be correct; in some cases, fewer candidates are provided if they are somehow viewed as being superior candidates.
Ion Trap Data
"Q" implies either K or Q, except at the C-terminus where K is assumed for tryptic peptides. Numbers in brackets correspond to the combined residue masses of two amino acids.

Note: 242 u corresponds to the combined mass of Glu and Leu.

Note: When Lutefisk1900 processed the raw profile data, the ions indicating cleavage between Ile(6)-Ser(7) were left out; thus, the bracketed number of 200.0 corresponds to the combined mass of Ile and Ser. Also, ions indicating cleavage between Ala(10) and Asp(11) were left out; however, Ala plus Asp adds up to about the same mass as Trp, so Trp was inserted in the position corresponding to Ala-Asp.

Note: Ions indicating cleavage between Thr and Phe were left out when the raw profile data was processed, so the sequence TF could not be deduced. However, the combined mass of Thr plus Phe (276.1) was inserted into the correct position of an otherwise correct sequence.
Qtof data
Sequence candidates were fit to the observed mass spectral data using a tolerance of +/- 0.02 u. Hence, Gln and Lys are distinguishable as are oxidized Met and Phe. Oxidized Met is indicated as "m". "X" indicates either L or I.. Numbers in brackets indicate the combined masses of two amino acid residues. If the combined masses can only be due to a single pair of amino acids, then these are indicated by their single letter codes in brackets. For example, in IPIGFAGAQGGFDTR the mass of the two N-terminal amino acids can only be derived from a combination of X and P.

Note: There are different two amino acid combinations that give rise to a combined nominal mass of 242 u, but since the Qtof error tolerances are so tight the Lutefisk1900 output gives two sequences that differ only in the combined N-terminal dipeptide masses.
IPIGFAGAQGGFDTR
Note: After processing of the data, no cleavages were retained to indicate cleavage between Gly-Phe, but the correct dipeptide mass was inserted in the correct position of an otherwise correct sequence.
