RE: Y2K and 9050 Synthesizer

David and Dr. Venugopal,
I just finished running a test run on my 9050. My computers date is
correct at (05-01-2000) and my notebook was saved in the software as
05-01-100. I ran the test synthesis anyway and all seems to have gone as
expected and saved as expected. As I am a research lab it doesn't make
any deference to me if my notebooks for the year 2000 are saved as 100
but it might be a problem for any GMP labs. Please keep me informed of
any other irregularities you encounter in the future with your 9050
(Feb. 29 comes to mind) and Y2K. Thanks in advance.

        Hi, Divakaremenon:
We also ran a Y2K test synthesis on our 9050, with the following
observations:

        1) the computer, not Y2K-updated, shows today's date as
05-01-2021 (dd-mm-yy).
Prior to Y2K, years were two digits...
        2) the synthesis file was saved (yesterday) as 04-05-121 (three
digits for the
        year, like yourself)
        3) we have processed the peptide-resin and it looks fine by HPLC
and MALDI
A colleague who's more computer-literate than me suggests we
reset the
computer to some "reasonable" date, e.g., 1990, and see what
happens. I am
tempted to let things in statu quo. Any suggestions anyone?
