Hello all and happy new year!

As promised, here is a brief summary of the results of the survey on
ABRF-sponsored scientific courses conducted last fall by the Education
Committee.

Some themes were apparent.
Top choices for meeting times were for a one-two day course before or after
our annual meeting (mostly for before) or for web-based classes.
There was also some interest in short (1/2 day) courses.

Top choices for course topics were 2D gel electrophoresis, mass spectrometry
databases, facility funding and microarrays. However, there were also
several votes for lab automation and biosensors, and many additional
suggestions, including peptide synthesis and fragment analysis.

Some respondents offered some valuable ideas, including that of a "DNA
breakout session" or to offer courses similar to the ACS short courses.

I'd be happy to give a few more details to anyone who is interested.

Thanks very much to all who responded. Your input is quite valuable and will
be considered by the Education committee.
