Associate Molecular Biologist
Several positions are available in the DNA sequencing and
genotyping core facility of the DNA
Technologies group in the Department of Research Technology and
Protein Development.
The focus of the DNA Technologies group is the application of
molecular and genomic
approaches to all phases of the drug discovery and development.
These positions require a
BA/BS (with 0-5 years experience) or MS degree in the area of
molecular biology, genetics, or
DNA technology. Candidates should be well versed in several of the
following listed basic
molecular biology techniques including automated DNA sequencing,
use of computer-based
DNA sequence analysis programs and sequence databases, PCR, design
of
oligonucleotide primers for PCR, agarose and polyacrylamide gel
electrophoresis, and
cloning.
Candidates must have good oral and written communication skills and
experience with
Windows 95/98 and NT workstations, and general productivity
software such as MS Word,
Excel and Powerpoint and web-based applications. Some background in
bioinformatics is
preferred. Candidates must be able to work in a team-oriented and
dynamic environment
where they will interact with a large number of scientists and work
on several projects
simultaneously.
