That's the way we do it. You would think there would be an easier way to
take a pic for presentations (we are, after all, promoting ABI equipment by
doing so). Taking a screen shot (Apple+shift+3) and then copying the pic to
Word/PowerPoint is the only way I know of performing the task. Then I guess
you have to save the Mac version in PC format, download to a floppy (kind of
tough on new Macs that don't have floppies) and hope that when you open it
on a PC that the picture arrives safely.
Actually, I just realized you are down the hall. Come find myself or Jim
Ross- he might know of another way to do this.

Subject: GeneScan question
G'Day all,
As a pup on the ABI 310 and GeneScan, I have a quick
software
question for the more experienced. Is there a way to copy and paste
an
electropherogram from GeneScan to Mac resident Microsoft Word or
PowerPoint.
We've been able to do a screen shot and paste via SimpleText, but it
seems
like there should be a more elegant solution. Our final aim is to
port data
(by sneakernet) to a PC for presentations. Thanks for any and all
info.
versions, etc: GeneScan 2.1 or 3.1 (we have two machines)
Mac OS8
Microsoft Office on Mac: PowerPoint 4, Word 6
Thanks again,
Jack
