In a similar vein, I'm looking for a method to extract DNA from sewage
water. The amount of DNA is high varying and can be extremely low at times,
so a very efficient method is need. Any suggestions?

Subject: DNA Extraction from a extremely high-salt sample.

Dear Co-Problemsolvers,
I have a set of samples which are almost completely salt (i.e.NaCl) and the
challenge is to extract any DNA from any kind of Micro-organism that are (or
were) present in this sample. The usual extraction methods of earth samples
seem not to work.
Does anyone have a suggestion to help me with this as it is not my
speciality at all.

Thank you in advance,
