DigestPro

Dear Dr. Lombardo,

thanks for your reply.
your problem is obviously caused by the z-height. are you sure that the
liquid is spraying during liquid delivery? or is the liquid coming out
during the nitrogen blowing? there are two possibilities.
The former: during the liquid delivery steps the needle is to close to
the tube lid and the buffers are hanging on the lid.
The latter: during the nitrogen delivery the sealing is not perfect and
of course this is in contrats a gas bubbling.
To fix the problem: please refer to chapter "adjusting the inject
position of the needle", at page 10.
[add comment: in the exchange kit manual]
we stated that the z-home value 410 will be okay, but maybe not in all
cases (in fact you are the first one who is giving us this error
message).
please go through the described procedure and try another higher value
(top is 0 bottom around 1250 for the z-axis), so let's say 415.
Iam just writing a special note for adjusting the right z-position. as
soon as it is ready I will send it to you by email.
please keep me informed

Kind regards

        Dear Jorn,

We received the replacement lid included with the exchange kit
for the
DigestPro that you sent. Thank you. I reprogrammed the
controller and
installed the new lid as instructed in the manual. We are still
having a
very serious problem. During the addition of the reagents, the
liquid
comes out of the tops of the reaction tubes. Not all of the
liquid goes in
the tubes and much of it stays at the top. On our first attempt
at
performing digests with the DigestPro, there was liquid spilling
over the
top. The problem is that the acetonitrile used in the digest
reaction
destroys the plastic polycarbonate lid. This is what happen
last time.
This has already begun to happen with the new lid!! I would
appreciate any
suggestions you may have regarding how to prevent this problem.

        Thanks in advance.

        -Chris-
