Hi Jayne,
Acrylamide gels are good up to six hours after casting. If the gels stand
for more than six hours, the resolution will start to deteriorate at
probably 400 bases if using ABI 377 DNA sequencer. Gels that stay for more
than eight hours usually shows significant slower migration of DNA. In our
core facility we pour gels and use them after 2 hours of polymerization for
the best results. Good luck.

Hi everyone,
We are currently pouring and wrapping our sequencing gels about 24 hours
before we use them. I was wondering what the longest period was that labs
keep the acrylamide gels, before using them.
Thanks,
Jayne
