His Pro cleavage

Hi, all,

Has anyone seen cleavage between His and Pro (sequence xxHPxx) with Endo
Lys C cleavage or under acidic conditions (I'm thinking specifically
about the HPLC fractions sitting around in 0.1% TFA/Accn until we ran
them on the protein sequencer)?

If this peptide bond (HP) is sturdy, then I imagine that we have a
Lysine in our protein sequence rather than the predicted His--but then I
thought that KP could not be cut by endo Lys C? Do I have this right?

Thanks for any input,
