I agree with Bernie McInerney's suggestion, but I'd like to add my $0.02 into
the pot. Make the peptide, to be attached to the Cl-/Br-acetylated octavalent
MAPS resin, on an amide producing resin in order the eliminate the influence of
a free carboxyl group in the final product. Also, I would have at the
N-terminus of the peptide to be attached: Boc-Cys(Trt)Gly-Gly-. Using the
diglycyl part as a spacer to distance the peptide from the resin, and the
Boc/Trt Cys derivative just to make the final deprotection easier.
