WRT the IEF/transfer problem

I did IEF like that for my thesis. See Watts and Coombs
1989. J. Vir. 63:2427; Watts and Coombs 1990. J. Vir.
64:143; Watts, Hainfeld and Coombs 1990. J. Mol. Biol.
216:315; Watts and Singh, 1995. Electrophoresis 16:22.
Maybe there is some help there.

Also, do you have (a) to high ionic strength? (b) bad
current? i.e. check wires, try another power supply.

I don't think a gradient gel will affect transfer, just
resolution and separation range.
