We tried using the G4 with Sequence Analysis 3.4. It also crashed during
autotracking. Or if you tried to change the contrast. Or if y9ou tried to edit
the tracking. It also tended to crash you ran any ABI software on it. Changing
the OS from 9.0 to 8.6 helped. It just crashed after autotracking was done and
tollerated changing the contrast, and manual tracking. But you had to reboot
after each gel. We sent the G4 back and got a G3. Not that much slower, and
Sequence Analysis works just fine.

Hello chatters, I don't suppose anyone knows if it's possible to use
the new Macintosh G4 to run GeneScan 3.1 and GenoTyper 2.5
on? We've got one on trial and it seems to crash on the auto-
        tracking. Any ideas?

        cheers,
