It would be important to know what you are using this material for before
assessing whether you can still use it. Certainly your morphological
assessment indicates something has changed; whether it is critical or not
will depend on what you use if for. For example, if you are using it for
blocking agent on Western blots or ELISAs, maybe it's still ok, but for use
in some types of assays maybe it isn't. For a rapid assessment, you could
do SEC-HPLC and SDS-PAGE gels on it, running it side-by-side with fresh
samples of the same material (same vendor, same catalog item) to see if it
shows anything different. Maybe the best test would be to run it
side-by-side in your actual assay system(s) and see if it performs
differently.
