Owen,

I can recommend the MicroTech Ultra Plus system (contact Frank Yang at
408-730-8324). Our lab does a lot of peptide mapping and post translational
modification analysis. We normally use 1 mm i.d. columns but the instrument
works well in capillary mode as well. I have been using this system for
almost 2 years now with only infrequent and minor problems (no worse than
any of the other larger flow rate HPLCs we use)....and Frank is quick to
respond when I need assistance. He is very willing to work with his
customers.

Another vendor is Waters with their CapLC system. This is a new and
impressive looking unit (if somewhat high priced). The technology looks
great.

We are currently in the market for a microbore HPLC system and are
looking at systems by Shimatzu, Beckman and HP among others. We would
appreciate any input from current users of these systems or users of
other systems. Thanks in advance.
