Dear colleagues,
         We are interested in some statistics concerning the process of
solid phase peptide synthesis. Could you answer a few questions for us to
realize the commonly accepted approach to it? These are the questions:
1. If you have to synthesize a peptide, do you usually consult the
literature before initiating the synthesis in order to make the procedure
more efficient and economical?
2. Which of the stages of the synthetic process is the most time consuming
from your point of view if an automated synthesizer and appropriate
chromatographic equipment for product purification (HPLC, FPLC, etc.) is
available:
a) the search for necessary literature data;
b) the synthetic process itself together with cleavage from the resin;
c) product purification;
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely yours, E. Gorbunova
