Len,
Are you trying to desalt tryptic digested gel slices? I have found when
working with crushed gel pieces that small pieces of gel stick on the tip and
come off during the elution of the ziptip. I have avoided this two ways.
When rinsing with water, I fill a 1.5 mL tube to the top and aspirate and
dispense rapidly, this seem to clear the end well. or I use razor blade and
shave a very small layer off the end of the ziptip. I suppose that you get
some loss but it cleans the end of the ziptip.
I hope this helps

Dear ABRFers
Has anyone experienced problems with a ZipTip eluate blocking nanospray
needles? They should not release particulates but I seem to be suffering
from this; centrifuging the eluate improves the situation. I'll be letting
Millipore know but wondered if this was a general or an "Oh, we've never
seen that before" situation
Len
