Harold,
We have seen this for years. Sometimes (but rarely) we have seen it on the
glass plates (one has been cracked by it). We assume it is sparking from
the machine - perhaps due to overfilling the bottom chamber? If you look at
your sample files, in the EPT view ('Apple-I'), you can often see 'oddities'
in the voltage chart (evidence of sparking).
We have been more careful filling the chambers and ensuring that the heat
plate is dry, and have seen less problems since.

We have had several front heat plates develop bubbles or raised
blisters in the last few months. Happened on one that was "new" as
well as older ones. We had gone several years without this
happening. Does anyone know the cause?
