Genentech, one of the leaders in the biotechnology industry, is seeking
an individual to join our Protein Biochemistry Department as a Research
Assistant or Associate. Genentech is known for amazing breakthroughs
and discoveries that have resulted in medicines for stroke, growth
disorders, cystic fibrosis, breast cancer and heart attacks.
This position will be involved in protein sequencing, which will include
work on new hardware and software for high sensitivity Edman
degradation, C-terminal sequencing and mass spectrometry . Other
responsibilities will include research collaborations with academic
laboratories involving protein micropurification and characterization on
novel proteins.
We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a team
environment and has a strong set of interpersonal skills to interact
with various levels of scientists throughout our research community.
This position requires a BS in Chemistry/Biochemistry with experience in
one or more of the following areas: Protein sequencing, HPLC, protein
isolation, mass spectrometry, and amino acid analysis. It is highly
preferred that the individual have strong computer skills.
