have a look at Glen Research's website under "Cyclic oligo synthesis",
you can find the following:
"Desalting with a Poly-Pak cartridge has also been tried successfully
and a protocol is currently being validated."
In case of cyclic oligos there really is no DMT to bind the product to
the RP material inside the cartridge. As far as I'm informed PolyPak is
Glen's name for OPC columns...
So I'm not sure if OPC columns can't be used for desalting oligos as
well. But sure, Sephadex is first choice for this purpose, we use
Pharmacia's prepacked NAP columns (Sephadex G-25 DNA grade) with very
good results here (using the standard protocol).
