Dear Nicola,

We have sucessfully silver stained our glycerol-containing 2D-gels (typically, t
he ones that you used for gradient gels). I would
rather suspect your silver nitrate solution. And, by the way: you are usually mu
ch better off silver staining your gels with your
own chemicals. I typically get better results plus I can quality control which c
hemicals I use.
