REM Attachment was sent to Winnell H. Newman ONLY.

With reference to the new and, definitely, not the last wave of E-mail
viruses/virusophobia, I propose again to allocate a temporary directory
at the ABRF server available for uploading/downloading in FTP mode. As
additional precaution, access may be restricted via password or using IP
addresses to list recipients. This will eliminate all known and possible
problems associated with file attachments FOREVER.

Dear Winnell,

please, find attached a compressed file "progrps.zip (181K)" encosing
"progrps.doc (ca 1.2Mb)" (PC/Win95/MS Word7/Winzip 7.0) which is a
15-pages table of known
protecting groups in the following format:
abbreviation/chemical name/structure(ChemWin3.0).
I compiled it in September 97 and the list was complete at the best of
my knowledge by that time. The file is virus-free; I hope you'll be able
to read it and find useful.

Any chemical details/references may be found in
