of Capillary LC back in the late 80¼s. The Company¼s ability to make
products of highest quality and performance over more than a decade, gave
the company the recognition of being the World leader in Capillary- and Nano
HPLC.
LC PACKINGS (NETHERLANDS) B.V. has created the acceptance of Capillary- and
Nano HPLC as an essential separation technique for the coupling with Mass
Spectrometry (LC/MS). By integrating its proprietary technologies into
dedicated instruments ‚ such as the UltiMateÅ Capillary/Nano LC system ‚ the
company is able to focus on its goal: TO RADICALLY IMPROVE THE SENSITIVITY
AND SPEED OF LC/MS ANALYSIS. In less than eighteen months since its first
introduction, the UltiMateÅ Capillary/Nano HPLC system is recognized as one
of the most sensitive instruments in the World's marketplace and used in
many leading proteomics labs in North America, Europe, Australia and the Far
East.
LC PACKINGS (NETHERLANDS) B.V. is currently seeking an individual to play a
key role in its scientific team as Group Leader for the development of new
instruments. This person will report directly to Jean-Pierre Chervet,
President and Director of R&D at the facility in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Position Responsibilities
- Assess new technologies relevant to instrumentation for Capillary and Nano
HPLC with the objective of integration into commercially viable and
efficient products.
- Provide expertise about instrumental design for HPLC and its coupling with
MS
- Direct the activities of a small instrument development team.
- Provide strong leadership with an emphasis on the professional and
scientific development of the group members.
- Organize the responsibilities and activities to assure that all milestones
for internal and external projects are fulfilled.
- Create unique separation strategies (multidimensional separations) for
complex mixtures of biomolecules (proteins/peptides, DNA fragments)
- Represent LC Packings in interactions with other companies as well as with
the academic community, enhance current collaborations and create new
collaborations.
Position Requirements
- Ph.D., in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering with
several years of working experience. In lieu of an academic degree a
candidate with a strong industrial background with publications and/or
patents may be considered.
- Expertise in HPLC separations as well as a background in LC/MS including
the design of multi-dimensional HPLC chromatographic separations
- Knowledge in software and co-ordination with software developers
- Willingness to travel (international meetings, conventions, customer
visits, etc.)
- Knowledge in developing/designing instruments for analytical measurements
is highly beneficial
- Strong Leadership, management and communication skills.
