Bridgewater, NJ facility:

Title: Group Leader LIMS/ Informatics

Job Category: Research Scientist/Research Fellow

                
Job Responsibilities:
Dimensions:
Operational responsibility for Bridgewater LIMS/Informatics team
Coordinates interaction of LIMS/ Informatics teams within the global Aventis
Research organization.

Objectives and challenges:
Provide laboratory automation development and support services to the global
Biotechnologies Department.
Evaluate new and evolving robotic and automation technologies in support of
the Biotechnology platforms within the Aventis research organization.
Development of upstream LIMS and data repositories in support of the
internal Aventis High throughput DNA Sequencing, clone management,
microarraying, and proteomic efforts.
Develop and maintain the Biotechnology frontend customer web applications as
well as the global Biotechnology departmental websites.

Job Requirements:
Programming experience in C++, SQL, PERL (and/or CGI), UNIX, JAVA, as well
as HTML page design preferred.
Proven expertise in laboratory informational management system design and
global software application design, development, and production
implementation.
Previous experience at a similar industrial position preferred.
Proven ability to lead a group of software developers is essential.
Excellent managerial and communication skills combined with strong customer
focus.
Proven ability to interact in multi-disciplinary cross-cultural project
teams.
                 
Education: PhD with 2 years or BS/MS with 4-6 years proven industry
experience.
