Dear Steven:
NH4I was reported to effect Met(O) reduction without affecting
SS-bridges by Giralt et al, Terahedron 1995, v.51(19), 5701-10, but I
have no personal experience of using this approach.
Perhaps the best way of handling Met is to get rid of it at all
(Met-->Norleucine). (:-))
