Dear Tom,
We have both a Voyager DE-STR and a Micromass TOF-SPEC 2E installed in our
lab. Both are excellent instruments, but in terms of reliability the
Micromass instrument has been superior. In terms of ease of use, PE has
finally released software to replace GRAMS that runs on NT. Despite this,
Micromass are streets ahead and the PE software is clumsy in comparison and
is not as functional. We use the TOF-SPEC for the majority of our work (ie.
automated data acquisition) and the PE for manual data acquisitions.
As far as tech support and quality of service are concerned, I imagine you
won't have any trouble with either company in the US.
Regards,
Peter.

I'm afraid I don't have a clever saying to put here.
