Hi Jennifer,
I have run into this problem frequently, and there is a gel that
seems to help. Essentially you take the top of the gel and make it
into a big funnel, and then you get your proteins into one lane where
they can be separated. I don't run gels myself, but have been
handing out this reference for years, and people have good results
with it.
