Aventis Pasteur, the vaccine division of the Aventis group, has the
following position available at its US facility in the Pocono Mountains of
Northeastern Pennsylvania (http://www.aventispasteur.com/).
RESEARCH SCIENTIST
Responsibilities include the planning, supervision and execution of
experiments leading to new methods for testing and characterization of
vaccines in support of new product development. Emphasis is in the area of
analytical methodology as applied to glycoconjugate, polysaccharide and
protein characterization. Provides technical guidance on vaccine
characterization to Research, Product Development, QC and Manufacturing as
this relates to development of new characterization methods and technology
transfer. Supports development of new characterization methods for projects
sponsored through Business Development contracts. May serve as member of
Project Teams or Subgroups thereof. Knowledge of regulatory compliance
(GLP, GMP) in relation to pre-qualification, validation and transfer of new
methods to QC is preferred. Ph.D. with post-doc and industry experience, or
MS degree with minimum of 4-6 years direct, relevant work experience
required. Direct involvement in the development of modern biochemical and
immunochemical characterization methods for biopharmaceuticals is desired.
