Hi all,
Our QC department is contemplating the purchase of a capillary
electrophoresis
unit with the aim of developing validated methods for determining the
purity, identity, microheterogeneity and stability of biopharmaceuticals.
Some questions:
1) Does CE give separations that are more quantitative and more
reproducible than those done by SDS-PAGE and IEF-PAGE?
2) How does the sensitivity of detection compare with silver staining?
3) Is CE the way to go or other new technologies offering an advantage?
4) How do the CEs from Bio-Rad, Beckman or Agilent compare?
5) Are there other suppliers worth consideration?
Thanks for your help,
Phil
