Hi,
its a long time ago since I worked with Dansylamino acids, but I still
remember: Dansyl-Lys and Dansyl-Tyr - and the Dansyl-alpha-amino acid - is
stable during acid hydrolysis while Dansyl-His, often not recocgnized that His
is modified, is hydrolysed completely. There is a very old paper from Singer
(????, no idea where it was published and I think about 1971, but I am not
sure) from the MPI for Brainresearch in Frankfurt about dansylation that
gives all information and I thinkl even in this long time nothing has changed.
In this paper the rate of destruction for individual amino acids was also
mentioned, but I lost my copy.
I hope this helps a little, just contact me if you have more questions.
Yours
Manfred
