The Laboratory of Vaccine Research seeks an experienced chemist in the field of peptide or organic synthesis to assist investigators with projects in immunology research. Responsibilities of this individual include the components of the peptide synthesis laboratory, which include a large capacity automated peptide synthesizer, analytic and preparative HPLC, and a KRATOS MALDI. Synthesis, purification, and characterization of peptides are done in-house in the facility. Opportunities for collaborations with investigators conducting research in infectious diseases and cancer are available. Clinical trials using cGMP peptides are upcoming, and the successful candidate will be involved with consultations with NCI and other potential industrial partners concerning the analysis and formulation of clinical-grade materials. Masters or post-doctoral level individuals are encouraged to apply. Salary commensurate with experience.
