glycocalyx removal

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a method or reference for disrupting
the glycocalyx of a dinoflagellate, without killing or lysing the cell.

I found a Japanese paper that treated guinea pig hair cells with
gentamicin, a technique that seemed to induce some changes. I have also
considered incubation of the culture with glycosidases or a proteases.

Thank you in advance,
